Attending a fundraising gala, celebrity pals Uma Thurman and Liv Tyler chose understated black and white outfits

Supporting the Room to Grow fundraising event in New York last night, Uma Thurman and Liv Tyler both chose striking looks in shades of black and white.

Kill Bill star Uma wore a black gown with sequin embellishment under a black winter coat, finishing the look with a raspberry lip and plenty of mascara.

Meanwhile, Liv paired a Stella McCartney blazer with a contrasting collar with skinny black trousers and heels.
